Our district just went remote.

At least thru October.  I can’t see it ending there.  The entire district has extended the option to stay remote for the entire year.   What an extraordinary time this is for all of us.

Remote last spring was a little iffy for us. I know the teachers were caught totally off guard, but our son just didn't take to sitting in a zoom call for hours on end, mostly looking at the bored faces of all his classmates in tiny little boxes on a laptop.

We're setting up a little school house in our home - my husband has kindly sacrificed his home office for this for the time being. We're going to have 3 school friends join us. We're so lucky because all the parents schedules allow for at least a little bit of time they can sacrifice so they can supplement the remote learning sessions. It takes a village and I am so grateful.
